Mini-sermon
In mark chapter 13, Jesus talked about signs of the end of the age. It is the time nation will rise against nation, kingdom will rise against kingdom. there will be famines and troubles……In verse 13 it is written that *And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.*(new king james version) which implies that if you want to be saved, you have to endure but then how to cultivate endurance then?
In romans 5:3-5 *3Not only so, but we[a] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.*
Suffering –perseverance-character-hope-the fired baked vessel of love of God
In James 1:2-4 *2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.*
Trial/ tests- perseverance –mature/complete- not lacking anything
The key to suffering is –rejoice , pure joy
Conclusion:
• to be saved/ not lacking anything : endurance
• endurance-suffering
• suffering- rejoice. Pure joy
